A lovely half term week spent with friends and five dogs down on the Cornish coast near Hayle.
Although I only made small sketches, I was happy to sit on the cliff top overlooking the huge expanse of water and sand that leads from Gwithian over to St. Ives.
I’ve never really understand what happens or doesn’t happen when I’m painting. Sometimes there is ‘flow’ other times there isn’t.
The enormity of the sea and the sky at the coast is almost too overwhelming, and – to be brutally honest- I’m not a natural seascape painter. I much prefer and bit of land to grapple with.
Even so, here are a few of the decent ones. The rest are relegated to the bin.
