Trying to relax

Lockdown 3.0: it’s been a bit tough so far. My husband has kidney stones; my son isn’t dealing very well with the pressure of home school, and our puppy is now a teenage ‘home wrecker.’

So, I’ve turned back to my oil sketches. I’m trying to be more relaxed. I need work much harder at capturing light and colour. More relaxed about form, like Winnifred Nicholson, Mumford and others (mostly women, which is interesting!).

James flowers, 10 x 8 inches, oil on board.

I am a Wiltshire-based landscape artist, working outdoors, come rain or shine. I recently left full time work in order to pursue my life-long ambition of being an artist.
