I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the snow we’ve had this March. All the quiet lanes around our village were waist-deep in drifts and the hedges blanketed in snow-tsunami. I have to admit that I couldn’t bring myself to go out and paint during the really cold and windy weather. I’m not sure my paints would have worked anyway. What I have been working on is a series of small sketches, which I’ll work-up into paintings for showing later in the year. These ‘after the snow’ pieces are cold, a bit dirty, and more in-touch with the abstracted, rather than the literal.
